Topic: The Place of Hope

Scripture Reading:
Acts 8:5-13

Main Text
Acts 8:8
8 And there was great joy in that city.

The peace we see in the world is the result of the presence of the Church. If the Church is removed from the earth total chaos will result. We are indeed the salt of the earth and the light of the world (Matthew 5:13). The Great Commission transforms the land. The Gospel makes people heavenly minded and empowers them to change the world (1 Corinthians 2:12-16).

A relevant church is a place of hope. It is the house of mercy to which the afflicted run and take refuge. Unfortunately a lot of people battered by the world enter the church only for their situation to be made worse either because we attribute all their problems to their own sins or curses. Some may even be told that in order for all their problems to be solved, they need to pay some money but often these are poor people looking for the comfort of the…

Discerning The Lord's Body(Video): Prophet Samuel Excellence (IPR)

Discerning The Lord's Body:
The Body of Christ is made up of many believers all over the world.
Believers who gather together in the Name of Jesus in a local assembly are viewed by the Lord as one body with many different parts. Just as the parts of the human body function together to give wholeness and wellness to the body, so the Lord expects members of His Body to function together as one, working towards the unity of the Body.
When one does not understand how the Body of Christ works, he/she can bring judgement unto him/herself because the individual does not know that when one member of the Body of Christ suffers, the whole Body suffers; and when one member is honoured, the whole Body rejoices.
If we’re to discern the Lord’s Body, we will seek one another’s wellbeing as a church rather than the infighting that often plagues us.

Many parts of the world are under the control of satanic agents and forces of darkness. Military personnel and scientific means cannot dislodge these forces. We have the power to disperse fear and release joy into the atmosphere. Many communities resist the Gospel and preachers because they don’t know the blessings and peace the Gospel brings. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is glad tidings. It is not bad news. The carriers of the Gospel have beautiful feet and not destructive feet (Romans 10:15-18).

Phillip the Evangelist carried the blessings of the Gospel to Samaria. He broke the cloud of darkness over the land of Samaria and freed the people from the fear Simon the Sorcerer had…

Scripture Reading:
Ephesians 6:10-18

Main Text
2 Thessalonians 3:3
But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

We are in partnership with Jesus Christ in the war against hell. Jesus’ commitment to build the Church does not mean we should stand idly by and allow the devil to have a field day in the Church. Jesus builds the Church by giving us access to the throne of grace and the platform of empowerment through prayer. The apostle Paul asked the Thessalonians to pray for him and his team to be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2).

After the completion of our church building in Bolgatanga, an uncle of mine who is an animist approached me and said “ My son you are really a man. It is amazing you have completed this building and  are still alive and healthy.” He said they live in the land and know what goes on in the realm of darkness. Wha…

The Believer's Hope (Video): Prophet Samuel Excellence (IPR)

The Believer's Hope:
God does not forbid His children from having hope for better standard of living in every area of our lives, while here in this world.
In fact He wishes above all things that we prosper and be in health, just as our souls prosper.
However, if our hope is for only the life we live in this world, then scripture says, we’re of all men most miserable.
The believer in Christ has hope; that hope is to be like Jesus when we see Him at His coming.  You’ll discover in this video why every believer must live in hope of seeing Jesus and becoming like Him.

Standing Against Attacks By Rev Eastwood Anaba

Topic: Standing Against Attacks

Scripture Reading:
Ephesians 6:10-18

Main Text
Ephesians 6:11
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

A solid church is informed and instructed in spiritual warfare. Churches die and believers are destroyed when they are ignorant about the devices of the enemy. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers. These principalities and powers are the gatekeepers of hell.

The apostle Paul calls on the Church to be strong in the Lord. He directs us to put on the whole armour of God and not part of it. Prayer is the means by which we put on the armour of God (Ephesians 6:11-17). A prayerless church or believer cannot stand. Acts of witchcraft and wickedness are unleashed against the Church. Hatred burns in the hearts of satanic agents against the Body of Christ. Lies are fabricated from the pit of hell to discredi…

Scripture Reading:
Matthew 16:16-19

Main Text
Matthew 16:18
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The Church is fortified against the gates of hell. In His disclosure of how He would build His Church, the Lord made it obvious that the gates of hell will assault the Church but in vain. The “gates of hell” are a combination of the acts of resistance and assault by the kingdom of darkness. The building of the Church is not a recreational exercise but warfare (Matthew 16:18).

The machinations and powers of the invisible world shall not prevail against the Church. The “gates of hell” refers to the entrance of the unseen world or the entrance of hades. In the ancient fortified cities, gates were places where council meetings were held for judicial and other issues. They were also the…

Scripture Reading:
1 Corinthians 3:11-15

Main Text
1 Peter 2:5
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

The Church is a deliberate act of construction by God. It is as firm as a solid ground and as dependable as a pillar. The apostle Paul told Timothy the Church is the pillar and ground of truth (1 Timothy 3:15-16). Every believer whom God has chosen to be part of the Body of Christ – through the exercising of his or her personal faith – is a choice stone. We have unique qualities that are given to us by the Holy Ghost through the new birth.

None of us called ourselves into the Kingdom. You don’t determine who else comes into the Kingdom of God just as you don’t choose who becomes your brother or sister in an earthly family. This knowledge should make us honour others in the Body of Christ and be…

Scripture Reading:
Matthew 16:16 -19
Main Text
Matthew 16:18
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The Church can only mature to perfection and be relevant if we understand the headship of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, placing a disproportionate emphasis on the human leaders God sets in the Church makes it difficult for us to focus on Jesus Christ (Ephesians 4:15-16). The result of this unfortunate trend is a weak Church and a struggle to discover God’s eternal counsel for it under the rubble of human deficiencies.

The people of Israel asked Gideon to rule over them but he declined by reminding them that God was their ruler (Judges 8:22-23). Church leaders must allow Jesus Christ to be the head of His Church. Human beings are not the builders and heads of the Church – Jesus said “I will build…

Main Text
Ephesians 4:16
From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

The order of involvement in a system is clearly set out in Ephesians 4:16. You fit into the Body, contribute to it and increase it, for “the edifying of itself in love.” This combined effect is called the edification of the Body. To edify is to build the Body in the architectural sense. Failure to grow makes us children who destroy the Body instead of building it.

The failure of many believers to grow up is a great setback to the Body of Christ. This failure slows down the rate of increase and edification of the Church. Another bad effect of this setback is that when genuine believers refuse to grow, false believers in…

Resurrection Of The Dead(Video) : Prophet Samuel Excellence (IPR)

Resurrection Of The Dead

Resurrection is the process of raising again the second time.
Scripture makes us to understand that the pattern for the resurrection of all men is set by the resurrection of Christ Himself.
The kind of Body that Jesus now has, is what will be given all those who are Christ’s at His coming.
The Bible reveals that there is direct continuity between man’s original body and the body with which he will be provided at the resurrection.

1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be Lord of all;
2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.

The Church is the light of the world and the salt of the earth. We are in the world for the purpose of providing solutions to problems and bringing about transformation. We do these things through spiritual avenues and physical acts of intervention. Believers minister to the Body of Christ and the world at different levels. God gives us big or small responsibilities depending on our levels of maturity.

Those who have big faith and have prepared themselves through fasting and prayer are entrusted with the responsibility of dealing with bigger demonic problems. Jesus Christ who was spiritually stronger than His disciples cast out a demon…

Applying The Finished Work Of Jesus(Video) : Prophet Samuel Excellence (IPR)

Applying The Finished Work Of Jesus:
What was God’s ultimate goal in allowing His Son, Jesus Christ, to go through the vicarious suffering?
Why did Jesus give up the ghost after He shouted, “It is finished”?
 What was finished?
How do we take advantage of the finished work of Jesus and apply it through the Holy Communion?
These and many more questions will be answered as this message unfolds.
You’d discover that the greatest miracle in human history is the ability of the blood of Jesus to remove the sin nature from the human spirit. The sin nature is the root, the source, and the cause of all evil.
Once the root of all evil has been washed away from your spirit, you have every right as a child of God, to use the Holy Communion to apply the finished work of Jesus in every area of your life. Discover this for yourself!

Scripture Reading:
1 Corinthians 12:7-11

Main Text
1 Thessalonians 5:19‭-‬20
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.

A church cannot be said to be relevant unless it is strong in power. The gifts of the Spirit are the means through which the needs of the Church and the world are met. They are the weapons with which the Church subdues satan and his kingdom. Relevant churches encourage the exercising of spiritual gifts. God equips believers with these gifts to enable them minister to one another.

Nine spiritual gifts are listed in 1 Corinthians 12:8-10, namely the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, faith, the gifts of healing, the working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, divers kinds of tongues and the interpretation of tongues. These gifts are not the reserve of pastors but the entire Body of Christ. Some churches resist the operation of these gifts w…

It is disadvantageous for a church to grow in some areas and not in others. The ideal way to grow is to do so together in every aspect of life. Yesterday we looked at "Growth In the Knowledge of Jesus Christ". Today, we continue the series with "Growth In Character". Believers must grow in character. We must add character to knowledge. It is a cumulative exercise. Maturity is an all round development of spiritual virtue. Don’t specialise in having some character traits while you neglect others.

The apostle Peter urges believers to be diligent to add to our faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge temperance, to temperance patience, to patience godliness, to…

Christian Baptism In Water(Video) : Prophet Samuel Excellence (IPR)

Christian Baptism In Water:
Baptism is from Greek Word which means to dip into, plunge, immerse or submerge.
We identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ though baptism. The burial is the outward expression of the death to sin, while the resurrection is the outward expression of the new life to God and to righteousness.
Baptism is an outward expression of something that has already taken place on the inside, meaning, the believer who is a new creation in Christ, is mandated to go through the waters of baptism to fulfill all righteousness.

A brief look at some key areas of Church growth will help us build relevant churches. Today we will look at "Growth In the Knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Growing together is an effective way to build a relevant Church and attain the ultimate goal of maturing unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of
Christ. The Body of Christ must grow up together as a unit. It is frustrating and fruitless when some parts of the Body grow up and others don’t. The Church should not be made up of children who are tossed to and fro with every wind of doctrine (Ephesians 4:14).

While the world is becoming one big global family, churches constantly experience splits and confusion. Americans, Asians, Africans and Europeans put aside their differences to tackle disease, poverty and environmental degradation. It is sad that most Christian denominations find it difficult to operate as one unit.

Jesus Christ commissioned the Church to preach the Gospel to all nations and not a few (Matthew 28:18-19). Many ministries have limited visions. They just reach out to those within their vicinity. We must reach the unreached people around the world and one of the best ways to do this is for ministries to co-operate with one another.

The Church has the supernatural power to heal diseases in the name of Jesus. This power should be employed to heal the sick. Some believers are trained medical doctors with the ability to cure diseases. Such believers should work hard to perform at the highest level. They have the supernatural and scientific power to heal the so-called incurable diseases of the world.

God, through Moses, neutralised the poisonous effect of the water of Marah (Exodus 15:25-26), and proclaimed to the Israelites that He is the God their Healer. Luke 18:16
But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

No group of people should have more compassion for children than the Church. Children are vulnerable and at risk everywhere but the Church turns a blind eye to their challenges. It is sad to note that believers are so worldly that they attend to only things and people that give them immediate satisfaction and gain. Children don’t matter to churches that want numbers to improve their membership statistics and wealth to enhance their self-aggrandisement.

It is interesting to note that Jesus Christ had special interest in children (Matthew 19:14). He was emphatic in His sermon that only those who can be like children will enter the Kingdom of Heaven  (Matthew 18:1-6, 10; Luke 18:17). If our Master did not de…

Most churches exist in places with high illiteracy rates and yet they are not involved in educational efforts. Some churches even see education as a worldly thing they should not concern themselves with. However, a church which seeks to be relevant must make efforts to eradicate Illiteracy, even in the Church. Ignorance is not a mark of spirituality.

Jesus Christ proved with His life that education was essential to the Kingdom of God by growing in wisdom. The Gospel Simplified(Video): Prophet Samuel Excellence (IPR)

The Gospel Simplified.
The good news of Jesus Christ, that He has saved the whole world, legally, must be told and retold in its simplicity.
There are many out there who have never believed the gospel simply because of the way we have presented it.
It’s time for the gospel to be simplified! It’s time to tell the whole world that so long as one hasn’t confessed the Lordship of Jesus yet, that individual is still under the lordship of Satan, because there are only two lords.
No one is a lord of himself, but Satan has managed to keep humankind under the spell of his deception, making the unsaved to believe his lies.
We must reverse this trend by preaching, teaching and keeping the gospel simplified.

Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

Poverty is a major problem in the world. Fifteen million people die of starvation every year and six million of these are children. Instead of the vague teaching on prosperity, the Church must find practical ways of dealing with poverty in the church and the society as a whole. It is not enough to say heaven is the home of believers – life on earth must be fulfilling.

Isaiah challenged the people of Israel to incorporate assistance to the poor and needy in their religious practices like fasting and prayer. While we pray for divine intervention, we must execute human intervention (Isaiah 58:6-7). Jesus Christ compared the proactive nature of …

Receive The Holy Spirit(Video): Prophet Samuel Excellence (IPR)

Receive The Holy Spirit

God’s best gift to all of humanity is His Son, Jesus Christ; and the best gift Jesus Christ has given to His Church is the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit has been given; He’s been around since the day of Pentecost.
It is now the responsibility of individual members of the Body of Christ to receive what Jesus has given.
You’d discover in this video that receiving the Holy Spirit is the initial step into baptism in the Holy Spirit.
Until the Church distinguishes between receiving the Holy Spirit and baptism in the Holy Spirit, many believers who have received the Holy Spirit will continue to presume that they’re baptized in the Holy Spirit.
It is this presumption that has caused a lot of setback in the work of the ministry of Jesus Christ. Your ability to distinguish between receiving the Holy Spirit and baptism in the Holy Spirit will go a long way to create a genuine hunger in you to give the Holy Spirit in you, the right of way.

A relevant church is a people-focused church. The teachings of the Lord Jesus emphasised the need for the Church to be people-focused. Human needs should attract the attention of churches. Food, water and shelter must find their way into our practices and teachings. People’s spiritual needs come first but their physical needs should not be neglected (Matthew 23:23).

Technology is the wisdom of witty inventions. A mobile phone, an iPad, a computer, an air conditioner, a television, a satellite, a video player are all witty inventions. To wage a good warfare, you must deploy every single witty invention that exists.
Do not think that you do not need witty inventions to do well. Have you ever heard of the arms race? The arms race is a race for witty inventions.

Uzziah was the king who used technology in his warfare. In the day he lived, he used engines invented by cunning men. Every invention you use will help you war a good warfare.Think about the internet. Sixty percent of traffic on the internet is pornography. Why would you not fight a good fight on the internet? Grounding a new believer is work. It takes a lot of effort and commitment to get a new convert established. Following up on a new convert will drain your energy, time, and even finances. Pretentious people cannot survive the work involved in following up. Grounding believers is a very important part of ministry, and our churches therefore need to believe God to have people with the passion for follow-up.

Matthew 28:19
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Today we seek to answer the question "How relevant is the church to a new Christian’s life?" In the Great Commission, Jesus did not simply instruct His apostles to baptize... He said "teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:20) He wanted them to follow up those who were baptized. Too often, once people are baptized they are left to simply drift back into the world or a state of apathy.

Follow-up means making sure new Christians understand their new relationships with God. They need to know how to grow in their relationships with Christ and multiply their faith to others. Apostle Paul followed up on Timothy until he was matured, and then instructed him …

Theme: The Relevant Church

Topic: The Praying Church

Scripture Reading:
Acts 1:1-4; Acts 2:1-4, 41-47

Main Text
Acts 12:5

Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

A relevant church is a threat to the activities of the kingdom of darkness. The devil and his cohorts will therefore resist the church in any way possible, just to dwindle its relevance. Prayer is a potent means by which we can cut a way through the physical and spiritual obstacles the enemy may put on our way, so that the Word of God may have a free course amongst the people (2 Thessalonians 3:1).

Jesus Christ, when He was leaving, directed His disciples to spend time waiting until they received power to impact the world (Acts 1:4-8). The Church was built on a foundation of prayer (Acts 1:13-14), and we need constant prayer to sustain it (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Many have replaced prayer with strategy. This ought not to be so. TURN AROUND

READ: Matthew 10:5-14

"…and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts. But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium".

Acts 13:50-51

By the law of concentration and perfection, Jesus teaches us to concentrate on our particular area of calling. In full-time ministry, we will only find true fruitfulness when we stay within the domain assigned to us.

Jesus told the Apostles to avoid Gentiles and Samaritans and concentrate on the lost sheep of Israel.

These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Matthew 10:5 -6

When you know your calling, it is your duty to concentrate your efforts on your area of calling, and you will become a better minister. People will recognize your gift in that area. This so-ca…

Impartation Through The Laying On Of Hands (Video) : Prophet Samuel Excellence (IPR)

Impartation Through The Laying on Of Hands:

The doctrine of laying on of hands is a fundamental teaching every child of God must know and be acquainted with.
Whenever hands are laid, a gradient is created, which allows the flow of whatever the better is carrying to be imparted to the lesser.
If there’s any gift to be imparted to members of the Body of Christ that will establish us in the faith like no other, it is the gift of prophecy. What has not been taught in the church is the revelation that the gift of prophecy carries with it an understanding into all mysteries and all knowledge.

No wonder Apostle Paul encourages us to covet spiritual gifts, especially that we may prophesy. As you watch and listen, may you receive an impartation that will establish you in all areas of your life.

That None Should Perish || Rev Eastwood Anaba

Topic: That None Should Perish

Scripture Reading:
2 Peter 3:1-10

Main Text
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

A relevant church makes spiritual impact in the lives of its members and others not in the church. The Church should touch the lives of the unsaved. The Church of today sadly, has a lot of people in it who, instead of having compassion on the lost, have rather developed hatred for them, and wish Jesus Christ would return quickly and destroy them.

On the contrary, Jesus Christ's mission is not to destroy but to save. He seeks to save all who come to Him (John 3:16). There is a day of the Lord - a day of judgement - which will come like a thief (1 Thessalonians 5:1-6). We do not have much time, though the assignment is huge - None should perish (Matthew 16…
