1 Corinthians 9:25
“And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.”
Good hygiene is impossible without self-control. In the natural, we cannot maintain good health without a sense of discipline. We must control our habits and desires to avoid disease. The same logic is applicable to spiritual hygiene.
Provocation is a constant thing in church and that makes temperance an indispensable quality to possess. A leader must be careful not to overreact to provocation otherwise he or she will destroy the ministry.
The absence of the works of the flesh, and the presence of the fruit of the Spirit in believers, leads to healthy churches where righteousness reigns.
Pray for the discipline to walk in self-control.
