A CALL TO MEDITATE: AFFIRM GOD'S WORD!
" When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.” "
The Word of God will be of no effect in your life until you either put it to practice or speak it forth.
God's Word is meant to be spoken and done(obeyed)!
Learning to speak in consonance with God's Word is a great key to living a victorious life here on earth.
The Greek word used to describe this is "homologeo" which means "to say the same thing as another, to agree with, to acknowledge, to declare openly, or to speak out freely"
Consider the Psalmist's application of this principle from our theme verse (Psalm 27:8) :
God says "Seek My face" and the response from the Psalmist's heart(spirit) is “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”
The Psalmist is not verbalising the exact words of God - but is speaking from his spirit in response to what God said!
Affirming God's Word is simply responding in faith to what God's Word has said about you!!
For instance, if God's Word has said "...by His stripes you are healed" (1 Pet. 2:24), your affrimation should be "I am healed in Jesus Name"!
When you begin to feel symptoms of a disease, speak this rather than accepting that you have that disease!
Again, if the Word has said "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ" (Eph. 1:3), your affirmation should be "I am blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places".
This should be your declaration; rather than always asking God to bless you!
Speaking in consonance with the Word is proof that you really believe what God has said about you!
2 Cor. 4:13, says "And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak,..."
Thus, when you really believe a thing, you will speak it forth!
It's the spontaneous response of your human spirit to the reception of the Word!
Affirming the Word of God gives It the go ahead(assent) to work in your life.
Your speech actually weaponises God's Word to take effect in your life!
Therefore, resolve to speak forth God's Word daily; when you face any challenge, find out what God's Word says about it and speak forth the Word!
Instead of vocalising what you seem to feel, see or hear, decide to rather speak forth what His Word has said;
And you will surely begin to experience great testimonies in Jesus Name!
