Topic: ARE YOU A WATCHMAN?
Matthew 13:24-25 KJV
Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
The above parable by our Lord Jesus Christ, is a perfect picture of what happens to us whenever we take a spiritual vacation and go to sleep. However, it also has a literal application in Christian warfare.
The night hours are the period when people generally take respite and sleep, but it is also the period during which most satanic machinations are executed.
Therefore, the above parable identifies the need for a watchman; because it was while men slept that the enemy took advantage of the absence of a watchman to sow tares among the wheat. Biblically, to watch is to stay away from sleep and spend the night hours in prayer.
Yes, we’re to keep watch in the night hours, and use strategic warfare prayer to ward off all the satanic ploys against God’s people.
If we do not watch and pray, Satan will have a field day to sow his evil seeds and monitor those seeds until they grow to yield their evil fruits. Don’t let this happen while you’re around. Don’t let satan have the field day while you’re in the field of souls.
If others choose to go and sleep, be a watchman!
