Theme: The Anointing
Topic: Contacting the Anointing
“The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.”
The anointing is so unlimited that there are countless ways by which we come into contact with it. This makes the anointing accessible to everybody. Unfortunately, many religious people use their limited imagination to limit the Holy Ghost. They prescribe their own ways of accessing God’s power according to their traditional mind-set. As a result of this handicap, we receive minimal results in ministry.
The invalid man at the pool of Bethesda (John 5:1-9) presents a typical example of the people who limit the Holy Ghost. He lay helpless at the pool waiting for just one way in which God would touch him. Amongst these sick people was this man who had a lingering disorder for thirty-eight years.
Jesus Christ came by and asked if he wanted to be healed. His answer was one of frustration. He had no man to carry him to the pool first whenever the angel descended into the water. This invalid man had his faith wrongly focused. Somebody needed to carry him into the pool. He did not know the power of the spoken Word. Many of us cannot believe God for healing unless someone touches us. Jesus Christ spoke the word of healing and he was made whole and took up his bed and walked.
Pray that you will not use your mind, knowledge and experiences to limit yourself from receiving the anointing.
