Topic: WHEN THE MOUTH AND THE HEART AGREE
Psalm 19:14 (KJV)
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord , my strength, and my redeemer.
The power of God is released from within us when the mouth and the heart agree. Oftentimes, what we say with our mouths is different from what we may be meditating on with our hearts. We may habour fear, doubt, and unbelief in our hearts, and yet pretend to be confessing faith with our mouths. It doesn’t work that way.
The Psalmist in our theme Scripture prayed that both the words of his mouth and the meditation of his heart be acceptable in God’s sight. In other words, the Psalmist knew that the power of God can only be released whenever the confession of our mouths agree with the meditation of our heart. Remember, God looks at the heart, and so He knows when we’re pretending. Men may see us “on fire” because of our outward acts and declarations, but God may see us differently, because He knows the doubts and unbelief of our hearts. The Psalmist wanted to get it right before God because once you get it right before God, you’ll get it right everywhere you go.
Choose to begin this new month by saying with your mouth, what you believe in your heart. Was that not how we came into the Kingdom of God? We believed with our hearts and were made right with God; and confessed with our mouth the Lordship of Jesus unto salvation. That is the same principle by which we enjoy our rights and privileges in the Kingdom!
Endeavour to meditate on God’s Word until the truth of God’s Word fills you up. Once you’re full of God’s Word, you’ll find yourself talking God’s Word, because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. There’s always a miracle when the mouth and the heart agree.
