A TYPICAL EXAMPLE OF BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT BY SAMUEL EXCELLENCE

31st December. 2018
IPR DAILY DEVOTION
Topic: A TYPICAL EXAMPLE OF BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
THEME SCRIPTURE:John 21:18-19 (NKJV)[18] Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.” [19] This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, “Follow Me.”
MESSAGE:The above Scripture is a reference to Jesus’ Words to Peter by the sea shore, some few days before His ascension. These Words reveal a deeper truth about what happens to a believer who is truly baptized in the Holy Spirit.
The phrase, “...when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished..” is a perfect description of one who isn’t yet baptized in the Holy Spirit. The person might have received the Holy Spirit, but might not have yielded to His full control. Then Jesus said, “...but when …

CONFESS IT
READ: Daniel 9:1-10
“Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.” - Romans 2:1
The Bible says that you are actually practising the same things over which you judge another. I believe that everything I have been accused about is true in principle. I actually feel that they are true and I endeavour to confess my sins every day.
If someone accused me of stealing the church’s money, I would believe it is true. Perhaps I have taken money that I was not aware of? Perhaps I have mismanaged some of God’s money? Perhaps I have wasted the church’s money? Perhaps I have overpaid myself? Perhaps I have enjoyed luxuries that were not right? How could I tell? In all honesty, my sinful nature is real and I cannot deny it even though I am a preacher. That is why I confess my sins every day.
If someone…

The Benefits of Soul Winning V By Rev Eastwood Anaba

THE WORD SIROCCOMonday, December 31, 2018
Theme: One Saint, One Soul
Topic: The Benefits of Soul Winning V Scripture Reading: Acts 10:1-8
Main Text: Isaiah 52:7 “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!”
The privilege given us to win souls is a great benefit. It is interesting to read in the scriptures that the dusty tired feet of the soul winner are described as beautiful. No amount of pedicure or manicure can make your feet beautiful if you are not a soul-winner. More privileged however, is the fact that even angels in their pure and powerful state do not understand the message of salvation. They only look at it with desire (1 Peter 1:11-12).
The account of Cornelius' vision as per Acts 10:1-10  reveals that the angel that appeared before him was not allowed to even mention the name of Jesus or speak to him about salv…

The Benefits of Soul Winning IV By Rev Eastwood Anaba

THE WORD SIROCCOSunday, December 30, 2018
Theme: One Saint, One SoulTopic: The Benefits of Soul Winning IV
Scripture Reading: Luke 10:17-22
Main Text: Psalm 118:17“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.”
There is a comprehensive life insurance for those who answer the call of the great commission (Psalm 118:17). He said that every tree that bears fruits is pruned and cared for, that it will continue to bear more fruit (John 15:2).
Jesus gave indemnity over untimely death to the disciples He sent out. He promised to be with them always and that, “They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mark 16:18).
Apart from the comprehensive life insurance, a promise of distinction is reserved for those who turn many from darkness to light. Already, Proverbs 11:30 says “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” And here again, we ar…

A PICTURE OF THE INFILLING AND BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT BY SAMUEL EXCELLENCE

30th December, 2018

IPR DAILY DEVOTION
Topic: A PICTURE OF THE INFILLING AND BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
THEME SCRIPTURE:
Ezekiel 47:3-5 (NKJV)[3 ] And when the man went out to the east with the line in his hand, he measured one thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the water came up to my ankles. [4 ] Again he measured one thousand and brought me through the waters; the water came up to my knees. Again he measured one thousand and brought me through; the water came up to my waist. [5 ] Again he measured one thousand, and it was a river that I could not cross; for the water was too deep, water in which one must swim, a river that could not be crossed.
MESSAGE:The above Scripture is a reference to a vision Prophet Ezekiel had, where an angel was measuring the depth of the river which flowed from the altar in the temple. A river is symbolic of the flow of the Holy Spirit in us. This is a vivid picture of the infilling of the Holy Spirit that leads to baptism in the Holy Spir…

Today, we will look at the benefit of deeper revelation God has given the soul winner and the blessing of Jesus Christ trusting us with this revelation.Jesus was grateful to His Father and said, “I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.” There are many knowledgeable and sagacious people in the world, but in all their knowing, they don’t know personal…

GOD WITH US
And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins. —Matthew 1:21
When an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, he was not only telling him that Mary had not been unfaithful, as he had thought, but that she was the virgin spoken of by the prophet Isaiah: "The Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the Virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel" (7:14).
That prophecy, given 750 years before, would be fulfilled in Mary. The child she would be carrying is Immanuel: God with us. What a staggering thought that must have been for Joseph. And what a staggering thought it is for us. It is really the essence of Christianity.
If you took the Christian faith and compared it to all other religious world views, this would be the clear distinction: Christianity is "God with us." Christianity does…

QUARRELS
READ: Proverbs 19:11-14
“The beginning of strife is like letting out water, so abandon the quarrel before it breaks out". - Proverbs 17:14 (NASB)
When a man finds a beautiful young lady who respects and honours him, he marries her knowing that he has found a humble, submissive creature whom he can lead about for the rest of his life.
Unfortunately, the humility and submissive nature which attracted the man soon fades away. Soon, the prouder and more confident wife comes into conflict with an equally proud and confident husband. The clashes begin and both parties feel they are right. Everyone feels cheated and disappointed. “I will never forget, I will never forgive” are the unspoken promises that spouses make to each other after their marital clashes. Because of the increase in pride in couples, there is more contention, more unforgiveness and more divorce. Indeed, without humility you cannot enter the ki…

WHEN IS ONE BAPTIZED IN THE HOLY SPIRIT? BY SAMUEL EXCELLENCE

29th December, 2018
IPR DAILY DEVOTION
Topic: WHEN IS ONE BAPTIZED IN THE HOLY SPIRIT?
THEME SCRIPTURE:Acts 1:4-5 (KJV)[4] And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. [5] For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
MESSAGE:The above Scripture is a reference to a command Jesus gave His disciples before He ascended to heaven. The Greek word translated “baptized” also means, “to dip into” or “to immerse.” Jesus told them they were going to be immersed in the Holy Spirit not many days after His ascension.
We have discovered in previous devotions that one needs to receive the Holy Spirit after he/she is born again. We’ve also discovered that the Holy Spirit doesn’t fill us from the outside; He lives in us and therefore fills us from within. So, when is one said to be baptized in the Holy Spirit?

BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT BY SAMUEL EXCELLENCE

28th December, 2018

IPR DAILY DEVOTION
Topic: BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT
THEME SCRIPTURE:Ephesians 5:18 (KJV)And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
MESSAGE:There are three major phases of our walk and experience with the Holy Spirit. First, you receive the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Second, you get filled with the Holy Spirit; and when you’re filled to the overflow, third, you get baptized in the Holy Spirit. All three experiences can happen at the same time, such as the case of the 120 disciples on the day of Pentecost.
There are many in the Body of Christ all over the world, who have equated speaking in tongues with baptism in the Holy Spirit. Such people have taught that once you receive the Holy Spirit and start speaking in tongues, it means you’re baptized in the Holy Spirit. No! That’s not what the Scriptures say. We will discuss baptism in the Holy Spirit in our next devotion.
Today, we’re admonished not to be drunk …

The Benefits of Soul Winning II By Rev Eastwood Anaba

THE WORD SIROCCOFriday, December 28, 2018
Theme: One Saint, One Soul Topic: The Benefits of Soul Winning II
Scripture Reading: Luke 10:1-20
Main Text: Luke 10:1“After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.”
Jesus released seventy soul winners into the field. Even after that, He bemoaned the shortage of labourers as against the plenteous harvest. That means even seventy people going at the same time is not enough labour to bring in the harvest. These seventy after making giant strides in their mission came thrilled by the demons that had fled their presence.
Yes, that the demons were subject unto them was a great benefit, but Jesus rearranged the order of the benefits of soul winning. First, benefit according to Jesus Himself is that satan falls as lightening as we win souls. As we deplete his kingdom, he falls in disappointment. He cannot stand against us. No weapon fashioned a…

LIKE A CLOAK
READ: Luke 4:14-22
“By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.” - Acts 4:30
The anointing every Christian has is the anointing within. The healing anointing is the anointing upon you and not the anointing within you. Many people do not understand the difference. We can all be filled with the Holy Spirit and rivers of living water will flow out of our bellies. “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water” (John 7:38). The anointing upon you is different from the anointing in you.
The healing anointing is like a cloak that comes upon the minister. When the Lord told me that He was giving me a healing anointing, He was not filling me with a new anointing. I was already filled with the Spirit. He was putting an anointing upon me. That is why the anointing is sometimes referred to as a cloak or a…

THE ANTIDOTE TO FEAR BY SAMUEL EXCELLENCE

27th December, 2018

IPR DAILY DEVOTION
Topic: THE ANTIDOTE TO FEAR
THEME SCRIPTURE:2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
MESSAGE: Our theme Scripture says, “...God has not given us THE SPIRIT OF FEAR...” Meaning, fear is a spirit; it has a spiritual root and identity. We use that which is spiritual to counteract the spiritual. You cannot use physical means to eradicate fear, because fear is a spirit.
The hearts of many people are failing because of the fear of what is yet to befall this world in this end-time. Some have gone into the use of alcohol and drugs to suppress their fear, but such measures only deal with fear superficially. What such people need is the Holy Spirit. Our theme Scripture refers to the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of love, power, and a sound mind. As the Spirit of love, Romans 5:5 says, “The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who is given to us.” Whenever we pray in ton…

The first reward of soul winning is the joy of obedien…

Foundation Assembly (Purpose)

FOUNDATION ASSEMBLY
26TH DECEMBER, 2018 FOUNTAIN GATE CHAPEL - THE GATE PASTURES, HILL TOP OFANKOR SPEAKER: Rev. Eastwood AnabaTHEME FOR 2019: PURPOSESCRIPTURE: Luke 4:18 - 19
Purpose is the reason for which something is done, created or exist. Created for a purpose, anointed for a purpose and blessed for a purpose is equated to the manifestation. Manifestation does not mean just to appear but is to be blessed.
The Father sent Jesus for a purpose. The son of God was made manifest so that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Destroying the works of the devil is not basically by prayer. Jesus did not destroy the works of the devil just by prayer but the preaching of the gospel was the main weapon Jesus used to destroy the works of the devil.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE ANOINTING?
Luke 4:18 - 1918 _The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recoverin…

DON’T MODIFY
READ: Matthew 11:16-19
“…If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?” - Matthew 10:25
Accusations go deeper than the issue over which you are being accused. That is why when you modify your behaviour in response to the accusation, a new set of allegations arise. This is the cardinal sign that the accuser has located you.
A minister was accused of being involved with drugs. He tried to overcome this by setting up drug rehabilitation centres to help drug addicts. This was to prove that he was definitely not into drugs. He did many other good works but the accusations continued. One day one of the journalists confessed, “My aim is to make anyone who goes to that church feel ashamed.” The journalist hated the pastor and wanted to destroy his ministry! Therefore, every modification this minister made in response to the allegations registered as “no work d…

The Mandate II By Rev Eastwood Anaba

THE WORD SIROCCO Wednesday, December 26, 2018
Theme: One Saint, One Soul  Topic: The Mandate II
Scripture Reading:  Acts 26:13-25
Main Text:  Acts 26:18 “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”
Previously, we discussed the first three of the five main benefits we are mandated to extend to souls won. Today, we will discuss the last two, which are the forgiveness of sin and divine inheritance.
Every single soul no matter how recalcitrant will eventually seek for forgiveness of sins. Some seek for this through vain religious practices like purification rites, ablutions, penance or self-punishment and many other vain ways. But the Bible is very clear on the fact that in Him (Jesus Christ, “we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace” (Ephesians 1:7). Every sinner who…

FORBID NOT TO SPEAK WITH TONGUES BY SAMUEL EXCELLENCE

26th December, 2018
IPR DAILY DEVOTION
Topic: FORBID NOT TO SPEAK WITH TONGUES
THEME SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 14:39 (KJV) Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
MESSAGE: The Spirit of God through Apostle Paul, warns believers in all generations not to forbid speaking with tongues. Regardless of what kind of calling you have from God and how gifted you are, speaking in tongues is pivotal to an effective walk with God and success in ministry.
If God has limited Himself to our prayer to supply the Spirit, how do you expect supply when you have shut down the means by which the supply is done? Unlike a fuel station which can run out of fuel in the fuel deposits underground, we never run out of the power of the Holy Spirit at work in us. The Holy Spirit is timeless and flows without measure; all He requires is our constant and continuous communion with Him, and He will manifest Himself.
Speaking in tongues is like the pump at a fuel station. If the pump doe…

We are mandated to extend five main benefits to the soul won, and these are the key things that distinguishes Christianity from any other religion. Today, we will discuss the first three.God sends us to open the eyes of the unbelievers. Wow, what a privilege! That God should send us among our own people who are groping in darkness to open their eyes by the transforming power of the Gospel (Isaiah 42:6-7). Secondly, we have a commission to turn them from darkness to light.…

“And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.” - Colossians 1:20
“That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. RIVERS OF LIVING WATER BY SAMUEL EXCELLENCE

25th December, 2018
IPR DAILY DEVOTION
Topic: RIVERS OF LIVING WATER
THEME SCRIPTURE: John 7:37-39 (KJV) [37] In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. [38] He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. [39] (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given ; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
MESSAGE: We saw in yesterday’s devotion that we release fuel of fire whenever we pray in tongues. From our theme Scripture today, we also discover that the Holy Spirit dwells in us and flows from within us as Rivers of Living Water.
Did you hear the name? It’s not a river but RIVERS; and it’s not ordinary water, but LIVING WATER! Meaning, whenever we pray in tongues, we’re either burning the works of the devil with fuel of fire, or we’re reviving dry, empty, desert and wildern…

FUEL OF FIRE  BY SAMUEL EXCELLENCE

24th December, 2018
IPR DAILY DEVOTION
Topic: FUEL OF FIRE
THEME SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 9:5-6 (KJV) [5] For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire. [6] For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
MESSAGE: This is Christmas! We often quote the verse 6 of our theme Scripture during Christmas, that, “...unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given...” But more often than not, we fail to realize that the verse 5 of Isaiah chapter 9 is connected to  the verse 6.
I don’t know what your version says, but the authorized King James Version says, “For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but THIS shall be with burning and fuel of fire.” The word, “this” in verse 5 is a reference to the battle of the Son o…

The Opposition II By Rev Eastwood Anaba

THE WORD SIROCCO Monday, December 24, 2018 Theme: One Saint, One Soul Topic: The Opposition II Scripture Reading:  Luke 8:1-3 Main Text:  Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” In our last study, we looked at two hindrances to soul winning: our personal circumstances and complacency. Today, we will look at the next two: inadequate finances and the infiltration of other religions. The scope of witnessing and soul winning defined in Acts 1:8 cannot be achieved without a strong financial backbone. In the phase of recent technological developments and sophistication, effective soul-winning cannot be achieved with just a Gideon International Bible in hand. Reaching out to the world today requires heavy investment into multimedia equipment, crusade equipment, lightening, medical supplies and equipment for rural outreaches, relief…

THE 'BODY' MENTALITY BY DR KWAKU OBENG

A CALL TO MEDITATE : THE 'BODY' MENTALITY
Romans 12:5
"So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another...".Dearly beloved,
For efficient service, growth and increase in the church globally and locally, each and every believer must adopt a "body mentality".Today's theme verse sets forth two truths that characterise such a mentality:
1. All believers make up a single body in Christ.
2. All believers are 'members' of one another.
This simply means that I can literally call the church my body; and your status as a believer makes you a member of me!!!Once this simple scripture sinks into your subconscious and becomes part and parcel of you, your attitude and dispostion towards other believers will experience a drastic change for the better.
The "body mentality" brings to the fore the realisation that:
Your success is my success,
Your failure is my failure,
Your loss is my loss,
Your promotion is my promotion,

The Opposition By Rev Eastwood Anaba

THE WORD SIROCCO Sunday, December 23, 2018
Theme: One Saint, One Soul  Topic: The Opposition
Scripture Reading:  John 15:1-8
Main Text:  John 15:8 “Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.”
The people who are averse to soul-winning often raise an argument that our emphasis as a church should not just be soul-winning but rather what glorifies God. The question, however, is, what glorifies God? John 15:8 has the answer. It says, “Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.” That’s it right there.
It stands to reason that many Christians are not glorifying God, at least in this area. Not only that, but it also appears from our text that a Christian is not a true disciple of the Lord if he isn't bearing fruit. Knowing this therefore, what is the hindrance to soul-winning? One is that, we are looking at our personal circumstances (Ecclesiastes 11:4-6). The weather around us is not fair. However, like Job, we m…

THE SUPPLY OF THE SPIRIT OF JESUS CHRIST BY SAMUEL EXCELLENCE

23rd December, 2018
IPR DAILY DEVOTION
Topic: THE SUPPLY OF THE SPIRIT OF JESUS CHRIST
THEME SCRIPTURE: Philippians 1:19 (KJV) For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
MESSAGE: Apostle Paul was in prison when he wrote to the church of Philippi. He trusted God for his salvation or deliverance from imprisonment through the prayer of the Saints in Philippi. But there’s something else our theme Scripture highlights which is hardly spoken about in Christendom; and that is, the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
Apostle Paul knew that the prayer of the Saints in Philippi will supply the Spirit of Jesus Christ; and it is the Spirit supplied that would liberate him from prison. No wonder he wrote in 2 Corinthians 3:17 (KJV), “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
It’s interesting to note that God has limited Himself to our prayer to bring about the supply of His Spirit. Don’t…

YOUR MIND AND INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES BY SAMUEL EXCELLENCE

22nd December, 2018
IPR DAILY DEVOTION
Topic: YOUR MIND AND INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES
THEME SCRIPTURE:  1 Corinthians 14:14-15 (KJV) [14] For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. [15] What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
MESSAGE:  Notice from our theme Scripture, that, it is your spirit that prays when you pray in tongues. Man is a spirit, he has a soul and lives in a body. If the real you is spirit, then the most effective prayer is when your spirit prays. Unfortunately, some people pray ONLY with their understanding, and therefore do not obtain answers because our minds are limited and can be carnal.
Some tongue talkers have presumed that because our understanding is unfruitful when praying in tongues, then one can allow the mind to do its own thing. No! That’s not how it’s supposed to be!
Our minds serve as a pho…

“And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake”. - Genesis 30:27
Many times, outsiders recognize the anointing faster when it is casual or subtle. I remember a time I chatted with a prominent businessman from my city. I was sitting on my easy chair, because I never sit behind a desk. As we chatted he looked at me and said, “You are very deceptive about who you are".
“Why?” I asked. He said, “You look very casual, as if you are relaxing here doing nothing much. But that is not the case at all. You are leading, managing, organising massive operations involving many people at the same time. But there is no sign on you about the level of stress and the size of the operation you are involved in.”
It is important to recognize subtle and casually expressed anointings. Many things are supernatur…

No Alternative By Rev Eastwood Anaba

THE WORD SIROCCO Saturday, December 22, 2018 Theme: One Saint, One Soul Topic: No Alternative Scripture Reading: Acts 4:9-13 Main Text:  Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” There was this man living in a village far from everywhere else. He loved fish so much and will often walk along the river bank, looking into the water, seeing signs of fish flapping and swimming and never did anything to get them. He will often be found along the river while fishermen will come and cast their nets, catch the fish and go. Young people will often come, throw in their line and hooks, catch the fish and go. That is what most of us believers and churches are doing. There is no doubt that we love souls. However, we are not doing enough to get them saved. Truth of the matter is that fish will usually not jump ashore for any careless admirer to catch. You must cast the net to catch fish. In the same way, it has “pl…

The Message version puts it this way: "Be generous ... you'll never go hungry"! Praise the Lord!!As we has studied this week in the CTM, True Heartfelt Giving will always inure to your own benefit.
I would like to use an analogy to illustrate all that has been said:Anytime you give, the recipient is like a steady wall a few metres from you.
The item you give (such as love, prayer or substance etc.) can be likened to a ball in your hand;
Your willingness to give and readiness to share defines how taut and firm the ball is;
The enthusiasm and alacrity with which you give defines the strength and force with whi…

TRAINABLE BY Bishop Dag Heward-Mills

TRAINABLE
READ: Proverbs 13:18
“A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer”. - Proverbs 29:19
Many people read about new and wonderful things they must experience, by being coached, indoctrinated and infused with new ways, new knowledge and new practices. This is where most people get off the train. Pride always cuts short the ministry because humility is a prerequisite for entering the doors of kingdom ministry. They cannot bend down and accept to do the things that are necessary for a change to come.
Pride is what makes you unable to be a trainable servant. The only thing required of you by your master may be openness and cleanliness.
On the other hand, you may work somewhere and the most important thing to your master may be punctuality. If you cannot bend over and be tutored in that particular area of eccentricity, you will never flourish there. I have worked with many unt…

The Audacious Soul Winner By Rev Eastwood Anaba

THE WORD SIROCCO Friday, December 21, 2018
Theme: One Saint, One Soul  Topic: The Audacious Soul Winner
Scripture Reading:  Job 42:7-9; 2 Timothy 4:1-5
Main Text:  Matthew 11:12 “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.”
Something is said to be audacious when it is willing to take unreasonable risk, it is brazen-faced, and lacks respect for things that are against its actions. Spiritual virtues are audacious – faith, holiness, obedience and the anointing are audacious. They defy opposition and operate against logic to obtain the results they desire.
In soul winning, you need an adventurous, aggressive, assertive and authoritative approach (Matthew 11:12). Job was an audacious soul winner. He had the capacity to defy all odds, brush his difficulties aside and recover from setbacks to save souls and deliver others.
Job recovered from his crises. The fact that you have people to save should force you to recover f…

INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES BY SAMUEL EXCELLENCE

21st December, 2018
IPR DAILY DEVOTION
Topic: INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES
THEME SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 14:5,13 (KJV) [5] I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. [13] Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
MESSAGE: The ultimate aim of all things is so that we would be a blessing to others. Whatever God gives us is not an end in itself; it is a means to an end. And the chief end of all things is the glory of God; that our lives will bring glory to God.
Speaking in other tongues is not an exception to this rule. If we’re spiritual, we will seek the wellbeing of others. Thus, even though speaking in other tongues is a personal gift for personal edification, the one who seeks the edification of others in church will pray that he/she may interpret what is said in tongues. If this was not possible,…

TONGUES OF MEN AND TONGUES OF ANGELS BY SAMUEL EXCELLENCE

20th December, 2018

IPR DAILY DEVOTION
Topic: TONGUES OF MEN AND TONGUES OF ANGELS
THEME SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 13:1 (KJV) Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
MESSAGE: Many are those who have used the above verse of Scripture to downplay the importance of speaking in tongues. These group of individuals major on the “charity” aspect of this verse but fail to identify “the tongues of men and of angels.”
Romans 5:5 says, the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who is given to us. So, having charity or love should not be a debate at all. We should rather recognize the deeper truth this verse of Scripture is revealing about speaking in tongues.
Since the gift is called “diverse kinds of tongues”, it’s obvious we could be speaking either the tongues of men or of angels whenever we speak in tongues. However, both the tongues of men and of angels are “unknown” to the speaker. That’s…

ESCAPE RIGIDITY BY BISHOP DAG HEWARD-MILLS

ESCAPE RIGIDITY20th December 2018READ: Exodus 8:25-32“Happy is the man that feareth alway: but hethat hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.” - Proverbs 28:14
Pharaoh was hard and unyielding. His pride led to his downfall. I once met a lady who told me that she was unwilling to follow her husband. She said to me, “I am fiercely independent!” Wow, what a statement! To be fiercely independent is to declare yourself incompatible with marriage. It is also the same as declaring yourself ready to fall into divorce. It was no wonder that she was soon divorced. Some people declare, “I will never change. I will never agree!” They are making declarations of rigidity and immovability. These are dangerous words and filled with pride. They are the biggest symptoms and signs of pride you can have in a person.I once met a man who escaped from Hell by the skin of his teeth. On my first encounter with him he said to me, “I will ne…

Guilty or Not Guilty By Rev Eastwood Anaba

THE WORD SIROCCO  Thursday, December 20, 2018 Theme: One Saint, One Soul Topic: Guilty or Not Guilty Scripture Reading:  Ezekiel 3:18-19; Jonah 1:1-17 Main Text:  Ezekiel 3:18 “When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.” The story of Jonah is a good representation of many of us modern day believers. We have received a command to go. We have a clear job description and specification. God has called and sent us to go and warn the wicked to turn from their wickedness and be saved (Jonah 1:18). Yet we have decided like Jonah that we will not go. Rather than go upon this errand of mercy, Jonah hurried down to the seaport, that he might escape his duty. Sin is always a descent; we always have to pay heavily in tolls and fares when we take our own way instead of God’s, and we must never reckon that opp…

FINDING GOD THROUGH SACRIFICING  (God of Locations) By Sam Korankye Ankrah

FINDING GOD THROUGH SACRIFICING  (God of Locations) #SamKorankyeAnkrah
“Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.” Genesis 22:2
God's instruction concerning Abraham's sacrifice came with a specific location; Moriah. The Bible tells us that they journeyed three days to this location which suggests it was a far away distance. The sacrifice could have taken place at their backyard or a nearby town, but God chose Moriah because He is a God of locations.
Moriah means 'chosen by God’. It is no coincidence that God chose that same place for David to offer sacrifices in 2 Samuel 24:18, “the threshing floor of Araunah”. That property purchased by David became the location where his son Solomon built a monumental temple for the Lord (2 Chronicles 3:1); and on the day of the dedication of the temple, Solomon sacrificed “22,000 cattle and 120,000 goats …

Love God by Bishop Dag Heward-Mills

LOVE GOD

READ: 1 John 5:1-3

“And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.” - 1 John 4:21

Instead of loving God and loving His people, we love the acclamation which comes with the ministry. Mercy! I am as guilty as anyone else. May God help us all! Ministers fall prey to pride, insecurity, and the fear of man. The greatest influence in our lives may not be the Holy Spirit.

Evil spirits have taken over and are turning pastors into Pharisees. Pharisee pastors love positions and titles. “They love to sit at the head table at church dinners, basking in the most prominent positions, preening in the radiance of public flattery, receiving honorary degrees, getting called ‘Doctor’ and ‘Reverend.’ Don’t let people do that to you, put you on a pedestal like that. You all have a single Teacher, and you are all classmates” (Matthew 23:6-8, The Message).

Pharisee pastors are hypocrites. “In th…
