Theme: One Saint, One Soul
Topic: Soul Winning – The Cost of Unfruitfulness
Scripture Reading:
John 15:1-16
Main Text:
John 15:16
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”
There is a very interesting connection between our relationship with Jesus Christ and our fruitfulness or soul winning. According to Jesus Christ Himself, a budding relationship with Him is bound to produce souls that will remain. On the contrary, if we disconnect from Him, we become automatically unable to win souls.
An analysis of John 15:1-16 reveals that any branch (believer) that does not produce fruits (souls) is eventually disconnected from the vine (Jesus) so that He can concentrate on the branches that bear fruits (John 15:2). It stands to reason that our relevance as believers is directly linked to our fruitfulness in terms of soul winning.
The evidence of our relationship with Jesus Christ is the people we bring to Christ. Our inability to win souls according to the scriptures may cost us our placement in relation to the vine (Jesus). It may also cost us answer to our prayer (John 15:7).
Pray that the anointing you have received will make you fruitful in soul winning.
