Theme: One Saint, One Soul
Topic: Soul Winning – The Joys of Fruitfulness
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”
The concept of “Soul winning” is very instructive. It does not end with us just talking to someone and leading the person to Christ. No, leading the person to Christ is just the beginning. Our main text talks of fruit that should remain. That means fruits that will endure, stay, will be established. It involves making disciples. We will look at what it means, and what it takes to make disciples in our subsequent studies. But for now, we want to look at what happens when our fruit remain.
Jesus conditioned the answer to our prayers on bearing fruits that will remain. He said, “…that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” It means that God is ready to do “whatsoever” for the one who gets his/her fruit established in Christ. Suddenly, a world of opportunities opens up to the soul winner.
Apart from getting the entire heaven rejoicing over the sinner that turns to Christ, your personal joy is full when you win souls.
Pray that as you win souls that remain, that your every request before the throne room of heaven shall be answered.
