Scripture Reading:
Luke 19:1-10

Main Text:
Luke 19:8
And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

The priest is God’s representative who acts on His behalf. He stands before God to plead the people’s case and go out to represent Him before the people. The Bible describes priests as people who stand before God. Like the prophet, the priest reveals God’s mind to the people. The Bible uses the term to “stand up” to described the mandate God gives a priest to stand before Him and to represent Him (Nehemiah 7:64-65).

Those who Zacchaeus had defrauded in the past waited for justice until God touched his heart. He declared the will of God for them that they would receive four times what had been taken from them. One of the reasons for the priest standing before God is to know His mind and teach the people His statutes. He brings God’s mind to the people.

As a priest, people are waiting to receive good tidings from you. King David implored Abiathar the priest to reveal God’s mind to him concerning the goods and people the Amalekites had taken captive. Abiathar directed King David to pursue the enemy and recover everything according to God’s will (1 Samuel 30:7-8). The Word of God out of your mouth will give direction and guidance to people around you, and bring restoration to your family, business, and ministry.

Pray for the restoration of all things to the Church and the world.
