Topic:YOU HAVE A ROLE TO PLAY
Hebrews 10:25 (KJV)
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
The word “assembling” in our theme Scripture means, “To bring together, as in a particular place for a particular purpose.” Hence, to say, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves TOGETHER...” may seem a tautology, but it isn’t. It is actually a double emphasis of an important truth God doesn’t want you and me to miss.
This is the year of Revival! To revive means, to bring back to life that which was dead or was dying. It also means to make that which had suffered inertia, active and flourishing again. For us to experience a sustainable revival this year, God may ignite the fire of revival with one person, but it can only be sustained when others also CATCH THE FIRE AND KEEP THE FIRES TOGETHER.
Lone rangers will not survive this year. Don’t cultivate the habit of absenting yourself from the assembly of the brethren for no apparent reason. You have a role to play in church. If God says you shouldn’t do something, it simply means, you shouldn’t do it! He says, “Not forsaking...” it means, don’t forsake! And if you do forsake, do you think there will be no consequences?
God has placed a mandate on the 21st century generation to initiate and sustain a revival that will usher in the coming of Christ. It begins from today! That’s why God will no longer take kindly any irresponsible attitude or behaviour. Don’t say, I never told you. Iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend ( Proverbs 27:17). You have a role to play if this revival will be sustained until it becomes a revolution; and the revolution will usher in the coming of Christ. Happy New Year!
