BENEFITS OF PRAYING IN TONGUES
Likewise, the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered. And he that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because he makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
You must understand that the Holy Spirit is our appointed helper. The scripture we just read says, “The Spirit also helps our infirmities”. It means that every believer has infirmities as far as prayer is concerned. We are limited when we pray only with our understanding. The Bible says, “…. He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God”. Which means that the Holy Spirit helps us to pray according to God’s will when we pray with His help. Remember that the only prayer God will answer is the prayer that is prayed according to His will (1 John 5:14).
Praying in the Holy Ghost can build a stronger faith for you if you have a weak faith. Jude verse 20 says, “But ye beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost…” Faith is very necessary when it comes to prayer because the period between prayer and the manifestation of your answer is sustained by faith. If you want to build up your faith, begin to develop the appetite for praying long hours in tongues and in no time, you will develop a great faith. Apostle Paul said in 1Corinthians 14:4“He that speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself….”; and to edify is to charge up or to build. So, by praying in tongues, you build up your faith.
Begin to pray in the language of the Holy Spirit right now! (1 Cor. 14:14)
The best way to pray in accordance with God’s will is to pray in tongues.
