GOD’S METHOD FOR TAKING US HOME BY SAMUEL EXCELLENCE

12th March, 2019

IPR DAILY DEVOTION

Topic: GOD’S METHOD FOR TAKING US HOME

THEME SCRIPTURE:

Colossians 3:4 (KJV)

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

MESSAGE:

It is worthy of note, that, Christ is our life! “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear...” refers to the visible manifestation of Christ at His coming. Christ is our life means, He is coming for us by life and not by death!

God’s method for taking us home is by life, and not by death. It’s unfortunate the 21st century Church has presumed that one needs to die before he/she goes to heaven. Yes, some believers have died, and we will discover in subsequent discussions, that, the dead in Christ shall rise first at the coming of Christ. But God’s original intent and method for taking us home is by life, and not by death. God took both Enoch and Elijah alive from the earth to heaven; He didn’t need to wait for them to die before He took them away. Until the Church discovers this truth and start working towards life, instead of death, God will allow them to die, those who believe they must die before they go to heaven; because death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall it the fruit thereof (Proverbs 18:21).

The Scripture says, “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then SHALL YE ALSO appear with Him in glory! Are you among the “ye”? Why don’t you see yourself in that light and begin to function that way? The generation of believers who will catch this revelation and work towards this goal, is that generation that will not die, but live to see the coming of Christ.

Scripture Reading:
Numbers 11:1-6; Romans 6:1-4; Ephesians 4:1-4

Main Text:
Ephesians 4:3-4
3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your  calling;

Though the people of Israel were baptised unto Moses, they failed to tame their appetite from lusting after the food they ate in Egypt. Their lust produced rebellion in them and they murmured against God (Numbers 11:4-6). Carnal believers with uncircumcised hearts occupy church pews and crave for the things of the world, which they are supposed to have been weaned from. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life control them because  they have not died to the  flesh in baptism. If we  are dead to the self we  are supposed to overcome the lust for the things of the world (1 John 2:15-17). Apart from water baptism, be…

15  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16  From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. The Church is the light of the world and the salt of the earth. We are in the world for the purpose of providing solutions to problems and bringing about transformation. We do these things through spiritual avenues and physical acts of intervention.Believers minister to the Body of Christ and the world at different levels. God gives us big or small responsibilities depending on our levels of maturity. Jesus Christ’s disciples asked Him why they could not cast the demon o…
