CROWN HIM or CRUCIFY HIM
(A Holy Temple)
(A Holy Temple)
He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves. He said to them, "The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves!”
Matthew 21:12-13 NLT
The scripture depicts a graphic scene of how Christ swiftly cleared up the temple of God, of traders, bandits and thieves, immediately after his triumphant entry into Jerusalem.
Notwithstanding the praise, pomp and pageantry the marked his match into the city, Christ was focused on getting his purpose accomplished: to get rid of sin and iniquity of every kind; reconciling us to God. This he did by first clearing the temple.
Imagine you coming back from work and seeing your home engulfed in filth; the rush of anger and the swiftness to clean will be your first instinct and action. This is what Christ did in Jerusalem, and he is still doing this now in your body -- where His Spirit dwells (within you). Washing away every wrong and bringing you into the love of God the Father.
"Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself"
1 Corinthians 6:19 NLT
In this period of Easter, open up to the Spirit of God and make Him feel welcomed to dwell within you: through right living, eschewing every form of wrong and sin, and keeping a deep daily fellowship with God through worship, prayer and praise.
Pray with me:
My Heavenly Father, cleanse me of every sin and make my life whole for your Spirit to dwell within. Abide with me Spirit of God, now and always. In Jesus' name. Amen.
