Topic: GOD’S BENEVOLENCE TO THE GENTILES

THEME SCRIPTURE:

Romans 11:11-12 (NKJV)

[11] I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. [12] Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!

MESSAGE:

We saw in yesterday’s devotion, that, after 483years out of the 490years of God’s dealings with the nation Israel, the Messiah was cut off. The Israelites expected the Messiah to bring them political salvation and emancipation from the Romans; they didn’t know that cutting of Jesus was to include both Jew and Gentile in God’s salvation plan. A Gentile is a non-Jew; one who is not an Israelite.

Bear in mind, that, when the whole world was engulfed in sin and rebellion, God asked Abraham to leave his country, his family relations, and his father’s house,  to a land that He would show him. God promised to make a great nation out of Abraham (Genesis 12: 1-5); and He has fulfilled His promise. Romans 9:4 (NKJV) says, “who are Israelites, to whom pertain the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service of God, and the promises.” God had nothing to do with Gentiles; Jews considered Gentiles as dogs (Matthew 15:26), and yet in God’s master plan, He allowed the Israelites to cut off Jesus, so that through Jesus’ shed blood, salvation will come to the whole world.

Our theme Scripture says, through the fall of the Israelites, salvation has come to the Gentiles; God did that to provoke the Israelites to jealousy. But it was also to extend His love and mercy to the Gentiles. That is God’s benevolence! He had only 7years remaining to accomplish His work of salvation for Israel and the establishment of His Kingdom on earth, but He allowed His Son, Jesus Christ, to be cut off, so that the Gentiles would share in the commonwealth of Israel (Ephesians 2:12-13). Out of God’s benevolence emerged a new breed of people, a new creation,  called the Church, made of both Jew and Gentile. This is the age of the Church, and salvation is now open to all who will believe in Jesus, whether Jew or Gentile (Romans 1:16).

The Church age is gradually drawing to a close. Once the Church is gone through the rapture, God’s attention will turn back on the nation Israel, to fulfil the last 7years of His promise. How I wish everyone will know this, so that we will take advantage of God’s benevolence before it is too late.
