HUMBLE YOURSELF – 2
Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.
1 PETER 5:5-6
A lot of Christian women think that, no matter what they do when they get married, their husbands will still love them. Do not deceive yourself, because, when you provoke a man to anger, he can decide to stop church and divorce you. It has happened before. I have seen people who stopped coming to church just because they did something wrong, and later came back to apologize, yet they came back with different women.
Do not deceive yourself to think that because you married in Christ, you cannot lose your marriage. We will never encourage divorce in church because the Bible does not encourage that, but your attitude can create that demon because there is a limit to what everybody can take.
You must have it at the back of your mind that, you can lose anything God gives you, if you do not handle it well. Do not ever deceive yourself to think that it cannot happen to you, because I have seen it happen to even Pastors wives. They thought they had arrived and so they started living their lives carelessly. Before they realized, they were on the other side of Jordan.
Even God will not hear your cry when you do not humble yourself before Him. How do I know this? "If my people who are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and heal their land" (1Chronicles 7:14).
Humility will always let you have what you desire for in life, and so humble yourself.
• Pray and ask God to help you clothe yourself with humility. (Col. 3:12)
• Pride makes us artificial, but humility makes us real.
