Topic: The Spirit of Might
Hebrews 12:1-4; Luke 4:1-19
2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
Might is the inherent ability to perform an act. Don’t keep falling under the power without a corresponding exercise of might. Falling under the power must be accompanied by practical spiritual results. Spiritual might empowers you to resist temptations and endure trials. It energises you to accomplish your mandate (Ephesians 3:14-17; 6:10-11). The Spirit of might imbues you with power to perform miracles and wonders.
Jesus Christ operated in the Spirit of might. The writer of the book of Hebrews admonishes believers to run with patience the race that is set before them by looking unto Jesus Christ as the perfect example. He endured the Cross and sat at the right hand of the throne of the Father. He attained this feat because He had the Spirit of might (Hebrews 12:1-4).
Without the Spirit of might no one can fulfil his or her assignment. The Spirit of might is the enabler and energiser of the human will and enforcer of divine agenda. It enables us to overcome resistance and establish the Kingdom of God.
1. Pray for the grace and ability to accomplish the tasks associated with fulfilling your purpose.
2. Pray also for the grace to overcome pain, shame and any hurdles on your way to fulfilling your purpose.
